SATURDAYS ARE FOR SPEY

On the FIRST SATURDAYS of JANUARY, FEBRUARY, and MARCH… from 8am to 9:30am, we will host an on-the-water spey casting workshop on the sand beach at Farewell Bend Park (just downstream of Bill Healy Bridge). Bring your own rod or use one of our demos. Boots & Waders suggested. We will provide hot coffee. No sign-up required, just show up

BEGINNING FLY TYING

SESSION 1 – (the Tuesdays in JANUARY 7, 14, 21, 28 – 6pm-8pm)

SESSION 2 – (the Wednesdays in FEBRUARY 5, 12, 19, 26 – 6pm-8pm)

SESSION 3 – (the Thursdays in MARCH 5, 12, 19, 26 – 6pm-8pm)

Register/Sign up at the Fly Shop for one of the sessions. Each session is comprised of four 2-hour long classes. Vise, tools, and materials all provided.

INTERMEDIATE FLY TYING

SESSION 1 – (the Wednesdays in MARCH 4, 11, 18, 25 – 6pm-8pm)

Register/Sign up for one of the sessions at the Fly Shop. Each session is comprised of four 2-hour long classes. Vise, tools, and materials all provided.

AQUATIC ENTOMOLOGY

SESSION 1 – (SATURDAY, JANUARY 25 – 10am-1pm)

SESSION 2 – (SATURDAY, FEBRUARY 29 – 10am-1pm)

SESSION 3 – (SATURDAY, MARCH 28 – 10am-1pm)

Understanding the biology behind what trout eat, is critical to taking your fly fishing to the next level. This class introduces students to the river insects upon which our local trout focus and how to stock your fly box with the most productive patterns to imitate them. Class meets at the shop for classroom session followed by a quick trip to the river for live bug identification. Call or stop into the fly shop to Register/Sign up.

1 ½ HOUR PRIVATE CASTING LESSONS

Offered year-round by reservation only.

FLYFISHING 101

MAY THROUGH AUGUST
10am to 12pm, every Thursday and Saturday. This small group session, is a fantastic introduction to the fundamentals of fly fishing! Topics covered will include: proper selection/rigging of the fly rod, reel, line, and leader; basic fly casting; basic knot-tying; and an introduction to fly patterns, what they imitate, and how to fish them. One-time 15% discount on any full-priced, shop merchandise.

6:30pm Wednesday, January 29 at the upstairs Theater space of 10 Barrel Brewery/Pub East

1 hour+ long fly fishing short-film compilation. Raffle. 100% of all proceeds generated will go to local Trout Unlimited Chapter
