The fee of $100/student covers the cost of tools and materials for the duration of the class. During these four classes\, students will: \n\nlearn about the tools involved in fly tying and how each is used\nlearn about the different materials and when/how they are used\ntie 4-6 different patterns (depending on complexity)\nlearn tips\, tricks\, and techniques used by experienced tyers\n\nWith a limit of 9 tyers/session\, each student will have the time and space to receive individual assistance from the instructor\, as well as ask any questions that may arise during the course. SUMMARY:Intermediate Fly Tying
DESCRIPTION:Our Intermediate Fly Tying course is intended as a follow-up to our Beginning Fly Tying class\, in which students learn about the different tools\, materials\, and how to use them\, while tying a few patterns in the process! In the intermediate class\, students will expand on their knowledge of familiar materials and techniques and introduce students to new ones! \nFor those wondering if this class is for them\, past Intermediate classes have tied: \n\nClassic steelhead patterns\nDry flies: Chubby Chernobyl\, Parachute Adams\, and the Stimulator\nNymphs: Copper John\, Psycho Prince\, and the Tasmanian Devil\nStreamers: Sparkle Minnows and Deceivers\n\nDuring the month-long course\, student will learn to tie 4-6 different fly patterns\, which will be chosen by the instructor. Space is limited to 9 tyers each session. \nThe course consists of four\, two-hour sessions\, with a cost of $100/student. These sessions will take place on March 4th\, 11th\, 18th\, and 25th (each Wednesday in March) from 6pm – 8pm here at the shop. SUMMARY:Introduction to Saltwater Fly Tying
DESCRIPTION:While there are an infinite number of freshwater opportunities in the US and the surrounding area\, many anglers have turned their sights to the salt in recent years; places where the fish are large\, charge\, and put up quite a fight. For many\, the opportunity to visually target fish that may just send you 9wt reel into a free-spool is hard to pass up. \nIn recent years\, the saltwater tying world has been ablaze with innovation and excitement. Takes on classics like Bob Clouser’s Minnow and the Christmas Island Special run aplenty as anglers book their trips to destinations like the Bahamas\, Mexico\, Belize\, the Seychelles\, and beyond. \nIn this class\, tyers will learn about the materials\, techniques\, and patterns used in these saltwater locales. Over the course of the 4 classes\, students will learn to tie between 6-8 patterns\, as well as gaining an understanding of the choices made by the creator of each fly. \nMaterials and vices will be provided for the duration of the course and students will also receive a 25% discount on all tying materials during the month of the class! \nThis year’s session will be held in January\, with 2-hour sessions here in the shop every Wednesday of the month from 6pm-8pm. This course is sequential\, so a purchase of a ticket will ensure your seat in all four classes. Note: this is not an introduction to fly tying\, just saltwater fly tying.
